Personal history
Lawrence was born to Margeret and Jerry Braun in a small town near the border of the Free West and the Catholic Nation, on the western side. The town, Fiegel, was unknown by most, and ignored by all. Lawrence grew up in this town in the middle of nowhere, no contact with the outside world, until he set off on his own at the age of twelve determined to explore and map the known world... or at least the Free West. He spent a surprising number of years on his own, avoiding fighting and surviving through guile and wit. He was an information broker: selling the locations of potential valuables and unexplored ruins. He even joined on these expeditions as a guide, earning food and lodging along with the pay he received for the info itself. Lawrence gained the attention of Doc when he guided a small contingent of rebellion men through hostile territory. Lawrence was hired fulltime by the Rebellion at the age of twenty and has worked for them as a navigator ever since.
Employment
A self-made man, Lawrence spent a good eight years earning his keep as a freelance guide, but was hired by the Rebellion in 230 PA.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Lawrence published a rather thorough map of the southwestern Free West in the year 238 PA. Despite his expertise, he will refer to himself as an amateur cartographer until he has mapped the entirety of the Free West.
Failures & Embarrassments
Lawrence once tried to publish a piece in The Forbian Times that was rejected because it was rife with spelling and grammatical errors. This led Lawrence to study penmanship and the language arts very thoroughly in his free time until his prose became quite masterful.
Morality & Philosophy
Despite the commonality of the practice, Lawrence disapproves of slavery and indentured servitude. He believes that all people should be allowed to lead lives free of restraint, just so long as they don't hurt others. He will follow the laws of the land, but his views are more along the lines of an anarchism.
