Allie and Romulus's Blog

April 7, 2020   Romulus and I are bored. Bored out of our minds. Can't leave the house, because, you know, coronavirus. Can't escape the fact that our families are at each other's throats, either. The Dalianises are uhhhhhhhhh, let's just say they're somewhat fancy fairies, and this whole being stuck in a "tiny house" with a bunch of non-magics until further notice thing is grating on their nerves. And they're stuck here, now that Romy's dad has tested positive, until the virus stops raging in the City of Diamonds.   Romy is reading over my shoulder and would like to add that he's sorry to say it, but his family are being absolute jerks.   Anyway, we've decided to use the ample amount of time we now have (my online classes are a joke, lol, and Romy can't exactly do his job in quarantine) to finally get this "Primer on Magic History, for Non-Magics" started.   April 8, 2020   Man, it's hard to know how to begin an article about fairies. Romy and I have been talking it out, and the thing is, fairies are both similar and different to the human ethnicitices they appear to be a part of. And there are so many of them, spread out all over the world - yet they're wayyy more similar in culture than we humans are. We're working on it! Talking out what kinds of things are overarching over all fairies in their culture.   Mr. Dalianis is starting to cough more. We're hoping it's temporary.   April 14, 2020   It wasn't temporary.   Easter came and went (our family's church broadcasted online, and even the Dalianises watched, despite being Catholic), but Mr. Dalianis just keeps getting worse. Lot of trouble breathing. Mrs. Dalianis, Andie, and Sera are brewing him potions like crazy, which helps. Mrs. Dalianis is coughing too now, though she says it's just allergies. I kinda doubt it. We've all tested positive.   We should be okay, though. We're being taken care of by Republic authorities. The only thing is that Mr. Dalianis is too weak to transform right now, which would have helped to speed up the healing process.   Romy worries that he was the one to bring it home from his patrol duties. He's felt a little off for two weeks or so, with a weird taste in his mouth - though no other symptoms. I've been completely asymptomatic, at least so far. I tell him it doesn't matter who brought it home, that it could have come from anyone. Mr. Dalianis is a Senator, for crying out loud, he talks to diplomats and constituents all over the world all the time. But Romy has a hard time listening.   Andromeda and Seraphina would disagree with me calling them Andie and Sera, but hey, those are easier to type than their full names, so they can deal with it :)   May 7, 2020   Back and better than ever! We were really worried about Mrs. Dalianis for a few days there, but it seems that everyone's recovering now. And now, well, it sure seems like we've gotten close. Almost like a family. My mom keeps dropping hints that Romy and I should get married, since we know we can put up with the in-laws! But, um, that's terrifying, because I'm not an adult by anyone's standards but the government's. We're waiting until I graduate college and then we can think about that kind of thing, haha.   Anyway, the Dalianises are headed back to the City of Diamonds this week, and they've invited me to come along, since my classes are online right now and my internship (!!!!) is in the magical capital anyway! Seraphina offered to use her powers to take us to the city, but my parents just about had a stroke at that, so we're just gonna fly. Can't wait to finally get out of the house and see the City of Diamonds again!   Haven't been writing many articles, but hopefully that'll change soon! Though having a job starting on June 1st means that we'll have to see what happens there... heh.
