Sino-American Joint Agreement on Russia

The Sino-American Joint Agreement on Russia was a secret agreement signed by both the United States of America and the People's Republic of China in 2026 upon the outbreak of civil war in the Russian Federation. The agreement stated that both nations would not intervene on behalf of the Russian government, and would instead provide covert military and economic support to the fledgling Siberian Independent Republic. This agreement is credited with the early survival and eventual victory of the Siberian Republic.

In mid 2026, US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping secretly met during a conference in Beijing to discuss the deteriorating situation in Russia. Although the details of the meeting are unclear, both expressed significant concern over the stability of Russian nuclear weapons. In addition, both parties wished to send a strong message that nuclear first use, as Russia had done in Ukraine the year prior, was unacceptable. Economic and military aid were promised to the new Siberian Republic, but not nuclear weapons. Instead, both parties declared that any further use of nuclear weapons by the Russian Federation would be retaliated against by both the United States and China.

Although this agreement was critical in helping the Siberian Republic win their war of independence, its existence was not revealed until 2051, 25 years after it was first signed. It has been credited with the thaw in relations between the United States and China after the fracturing of the Russian Federation.
