Wrun Valley

At the extreme north of Eoland, between the haunted peaks and the Clelolu mountain range, lies a city whose growth was layed not by conquest nor by prestige, but by coin. Wrun started as small trading settlement for merchants that came from the north. It didn't took long for Wrun to become the metropolis that is today.   As of today, Wrun controls pratically all of Eoland and Eritria by financial dependence, even though the city itself doesn't harvest any resources. Even food needs to be imported from abroad, which is a potential tension point.

Demographics

Wrun is a melting pot of humanoid species and mythical minorities.

Defences

Industry & Trade

The city's finances depend heavily on its open trade mentality and the taxes they get from it. Some scholars estimate that small and medium businesses constitute as much as 35 percent of the city's gold. Another 10 percent os given to the mines connected to the city and its processing. 5 percent from large scale manufactory and the rest is from general taxes and other minor sources of income.

Infrastructure

The city is one of the most advanced in existence. Having a city wide sewers system, separated industrial districts from residences in order to further improve life conditions and an immense amount of small and medium businesses.

Guilds and Factions

Architecture

Mostly made of stone, the type variates depending on the district and the wealth of the builder, the city has a a mix between pre-romanesque and brick gothic architecture. Wood is highly regarded when it comes to decorative architecture, but most buildings use contrasting tones of brick and stone to heighten its beauty.

Geography

Wrun Valley is located in the south end of a very long valley that connects Eoland and Eritria. Its south border is adjacent to the open plains of Eoland while its northern border is already within the valley. The West side of the valley measures at its peak from ground a whopping 800m while the East measures at most 340m. The terrain is a mix between granite coming from the West, Schist from the East and even some sandstone from the Valley. The city itself rises from east to West, being the lower area the entrance to the mines and the highest the Royal Terrains. There are a few dozen underground creeks that have origin in the Clelolu mountain range and lead to water holes throughout the city. The climate is temperate and arid which means plant life is very little, however a few Km beyond the South border there are green, grassy fields. Visitors always get impressed by the heights of the Valley and the beauty of the Sun setting in the horizon of the valley to the North.

Natural Resources

The city had no major export until a few centuries ago when some copper, silver and nickel was found on its East border. The variety in types of stone presented in the city permits for a good amount of stoneworkers to produce the bricks and stones needed for construction. In terms of nature Wrun Valley is quite exempt from it.
