A Study of the Infernal Crusade

Born in the second century of the Age of Shadows in the Felidar Imperium, Vraska was a follower of the Circle of Shadows. Raised in the city of Orzyn, Vraska quickly enlisted in the forces of Malpheus, seeking power. She fought valiantly against the forces of the High Kingdom of the Stonelands and the Second Vraekar Empire, but quickly became frustrated with the ineptitude of Malpheus' leadership. Gaining fame as a death knight, warrior and tactician of renown, she founded the Order of the Black Hand in the 189th year of the Age of Shadows.

An organization of death knights, warlocks and other adherents of The Shadow dedicated to the extermination of the followers of The Light, the Order of the Black Hand quickly rose to fame amongst the citizens of the Imperium, and infamy amongst the rest of the Elder Races. One of the most effective fighting forces in the Westhold for the Shadow, they were quickly granted autonomy from Malpheus' leadership by Belros Azul, with their largest victory thereafter being the razing of Vizetrix. While sadly Vraska would die in battle in the 224th year of the Age of Shadows, the Black Hand lives on, under the leadership of the one known as the Chosen. Shortly after her death Vraska was raised to divinity, and guides the Black Hand from afar in her home in Rancor, where she sits upon the councils of the Prince of Darkness.

Order of the Black Hand- Famously began in the Felidar Imperium during the Infernal Crusade, the Order of the Black Hand is a brotherhood of Death Knights whose goal is the complete elimination of The Light as well as the accumulation of power. First among them is Vraska, and they were known for being ferocious warriors, reveling in bloodshed. Their leader is often referred to as the Chosen of Belros.
Circle of Shadows- Most prominent within the Felidar Imperium, Yvren and other places where the Shadow holds sway, the Circle is comprised of a cabal of warlocks, clerics, priests and other mages who draw upon the Shadow for their power. Fueled by ambition, members of the Circle are driven to accumulate as much power as possible, often at the expense of others, or even their own members. They are often cruel and unforgiving, and can be found acting as priests amongst those regions controlled by the forces of darkness. They venerate Belros Azul above all others as the pinnacle of their ideals.
