Wyrms True and Lesser

Wyrms are an incredibly elegant group of Drakes. In many places, despite the outdated nomenclature, they are still called Dragons, due to their intellect, awesome power, and sometime pivotal role in ecosystems and environments.   The unique physiology of a wyrm is its long shape, multiple limbs, and internal structure. They resemble snakes at first glance, though their limbs and significantly different head structures quickly distances them. Wyrms have a great variety within their class, and so are often divided by True and Lesser classification. Despite the word, a Lesser worm is not any "less" of a Wyrm, though.   True Wyrms have multiple limbs, and crucially, can fly. They do this via a special organ - called an "envelope", named after the similar structure in airships and blimps. Within a True Wyrm, this muscle-like, cylindrical structure has unique pockets that use Mana to seperate and convert parts of the atmosphere that are lighter than air, allowing True Wyrms to float. This is not a slow form of movement, however, as True Wyrms can also often expel the excess parts of air, and use tails and limbs to quickly and precisely move in any direction. It's because of these unique factors that True Wyrms fly perhaps the most elegantly of any drake.   Lesser Wyrms are simply categorized by missing either the flight or limbs of a True Wyrm. There are less species of Lesser Wyrms, but Lesser Wyrms often are more common - usually, because of the unique upsides they gain by losing these aspects. A Rainbow Serpent has no limbs to manipulate it's surroundings, yet is extraordinarily fast as a result of this, allowing it to remain uncontested in the air. A Cliff Wyrm may not be able to fly, yet its flightless envelope instead grants it extraordinary strength while still allowing safe movement in its perilous environment.   Wyrms are also loved by humanoids, far beyond any other drake type. While humans might look up to the power of a Dragon or respect a Qilin, Wyrms are often said to bring good fortune - and often do. Many Wyrms live for multiple humanoid generations, and are quite intelligent and gentle. They rarely bring harm to humanoids, and are omnivourous, sometimes not even hunting, especially when around humanoids. Wyrms such as Cloud Wyrms bring helpful changes in the enviornment, such as plentiful rain during dry seasons. Others, such as Scarlet Banners bring beautiful sights and even protect and interact on a friendly basis with humanoids.
