Welcome to Ealamkha'fif

This page serves as your introduction to the world! Ealamkha'fif is a lighthearted fantasy world, a place of wonder, magic and adventure. Heroes from everywhere travel the world, helping those around them and exploring hazardous new areas. The world is developed, having a current history stretching back about 1500 years, not including the pre-history of the world. Currently, Ealamkha'fif has three main areas, or "realms". Aerava , the realm of the sky, air and wind; Terr'Aina the realm of land, metal and stone, ; and Kaiyocea the realm of the ocean, water and waves.
  These three realms serve as the basic, cultural divisions apparent everywhere. The concepts of gender, sexuality and race are rarely important, to the people of this constantly changing world. Some societies have removed these concepts all together, and what is normal to many will be strange to others no matter who you are. The three realms currently maintain a somewhat mutually beneficial relationship, with travel between areas often being completely unlimited.
  This is not to say the world is in a constant state of peace - small and large scale conflicts often occur between realms, organizations, smaller nations or even in societies themselves - resources, land and wealth are still desirable concepts. Conflict is the currently the outlier, however. Usually, trade, travel and exploration make up most of the excitement for the common citizen - not so for an adventurer. The lines are sometimes blurred between citizens and adventurers, but usually adventurers are those who have no single job, travel and are usually heroic. The world is still largely uninhabited - many dangers still present themselves in all realms, creating a need for these Adventurers. Adventurers may find themselves relaxing at a beach one day, and fighting a Sea Serpent to eliminate danger to that very beach the next. These people labeled as "adventurers" have important parts to play in all of the realms, and form the basis for growth and innovation.
  The history of the world is long and complicated, with a general division in 3 areas not simplifying it much. Initially, it is said humanoid life originated on Terra'aina, though at that time it was simply Ealamkha'fif. A disaster occurred at some point - driving humanoid peoples away from the center of the land, and pushing them towards coasts and mountainous terrain. This is the often hypothesized answer, given that society set foot in Kaiyocea and Aerava around the same time. (The history of Kaiyocean societies, however, stretches back some 300 years prior to humans who migrated into shoals, and eventually under the water.) Mainland societies progressed into the realms of Kaiyocea and Aerava due to unique Magi-mechanics - unique creations combining mechanical gear and magical spells or infusions. Kaiyocea's Ichi Province is the first of what historians refer to as the "new realms" and the start of the current calender. Kaiyocea's Ichi province started in the Seashell Isles, with underwater establishments being more of settlements until Magi-Mechanics had been refined. At the same time, the Isles present in the sky became the landing place for what what soon become "Aeravans". The ancient precursor to Sky Drivers was what allowed this sudden expansion, and Ontilii became the first major Aeravan city, with smaller towns and cities sprouting up often on other isles. Kaiyocea took about 300 years to fully spread underwater, by which the rule had fallen to the Meiki Commision. Aerava, which provided a much less alien environment, took about 200 years to form a basic state, similar to a coalition of isles. At the end of the 300th century, historians note the migration of some populations that had previously fled the center of Terr'aina. The story goes that these people were led back into Terr'aina by the nomadic Unxia people, where they were greeted by a varied and rocky terrain, with stone forests, ravines stretching miles and jagged mountains. These civilizations slowly formed into the current Realms through much conflict and hardship. 
  Nowadays, the three realms exist as independent pseudo-nations. Countless groups, cities, landmarks and cultures are present across the land, sea, and sky. Exploration, innovation, interaction and cooperation with people from all walks of life, and of course, plenty of magic lie at the heart of Ealamkha'fif. The world is alien in so many ways, coursing with magic that has shaped it's entire history, and unique topology that has led to innovation everywhere. Ealamkha'fif is not only one or two locations, but a whole world, for you to explore. So as the Kaiyoceans would say, the world is your hydra oyster, the Aeravans, that the sky is yours to venture into, and Terr'ainans, that the sun doesn't set on the purposeful wanderer.
