AMS Peregrine

The HMS Peregrine is an old Sky Driver, employed by the Najm Ramliun Navy. The Peregrine is a Brawler-class Sky Driver, about 188 feet long, with 10 traditional cannons and 13 Arcanarm Cannons. It's speed is overall middling, especially by modern standards and its maneuverability is below average. Overall, due to being commissioned about 170 years ago, the ship is quite outdated.
However, the Peregrine's importance is due to it's involvement in The Period of the Ocean's Expansion. During one of the initial battles of the war, when Kaiyocea led a blitz attack on many of Aerava's major isles, including Najm Ramliun, defenses of Aerava were severely lacking. The AMS Peregrine, on it's way back from supporting a smaller isle in the fight against the invasion, joined the battle partway in. Arcanarm fire and magic traced upwards from Najm Ramliun, the Aeravan Sky Drivers playing a dangerous game of keep-away. However, Kaiyocean's more aggressive Sky Drivers, bristling with Arcanarms, began to destroy more and more Sky Drivers. Eventually, only three functional Aeravan Skydrivers were left. The Peregrine, Swallow and the Glidefly. The Peregrine's crew, having far more supplies due to joining late, told the crews of the Swallow and Glidefly to land for resupply and repair, while it held the invasion off. For 30 minutes, the Peregrine led a 1-ship assault against Kaiyocean forces, taking an offensive approach to the flagship of Kaiyocea, the SKN Leviathan Serpent. In the end, the Peregrine inflicted massive damage on the Leviathan, until it was forced to retreat, at which time the Swallow and Glidefly returned. The three ships regrouped, and charged the Leviathan, hoping to provoke a retreat. The Swallow and Peregrine ran interference, as the Glidefly broadsided the Leviathan with it's heavier firepower. During this assault, the Peregrine was put into a glide, crashing into the Baraea School of Learning. The Leviathan began to lose altitude, and Kaiyocean forces retreated, following their flagship. After the battle, the Peregrine was sidelined for the next week or two, during which it underwent repair and upgrades, and served during the rest of the conflict, and becoming a symbol of Aeravan persistence. Much of the crew of the Peregrine chose to remain anonymous, preferring to live out normal lives after the war.
As of nowadays, the Peregrine is docked in a special sector of the Baraea School of Learning and Magi-Mechanics, where it is kept in reserves mostly for morale and symbolic purposes. It's official status for the last few decades has been "undergoing upgrades and rearmament".
