Simon

Overview

Simon (also known as Brother Simon) is an aspiring archivist of the Order of Mnemothos. He is stationed at the Forked Streams Cloister, regularly assists Archivist Mullen and is an authority on history in the Ulmark.

Timeline

On 3 Orult, 412 ERS, (Session 07: Bad Dreams) the party is visiting the Forked Streams Cloister, reviewing the documents and artifacts they recovered from the Trollfen. Garin searches the library for books on the history of Morgard. He makes use of Simon's book, "The Utterly Complete and Thorough History of Ulmark," and learns more about the power structure and the recent civil war that ended with Gregoran Tannvur III reigning as High Lord.  Garin directly asks Simon about Morgard's relations with Brisburg. Simon apprises him of Brisburg's search for mercenaries and competent people to help counter Morgard's expansionist plans (Session 08: Searching for Death).
The party also received a rag doll from an "Auntie Olga" who asked the cloister researchers to look into the arcane properties of the item. Simon was involved in researching the doll, along with Mullen (Session 10: Talking with Fists). They determined that it could be dangerous to continue Auntie Olga's task of giving the doll to a child and that the person who enchanted the doll may be able to see through it. He commented (in Session 11: Grudd Haug) that despite the potential danger that the doll may bring, "the search for knowledge was both exhilarating and exhausting."
