Fire

Mood

Close your eyes for a moment and think of the colors RED and ORANGE. What do you see in your mind's eye and what do you feel?

Volcanoes, deserts, geysers, lava, demons, hell, Light, warmth, sensuality, passion, power?

This impulsive, energetic and warming atmosphere meets fire beings on the continent of the fire element who know what it means to survive in a rather inhospitable world.

Fire has always fascinated us and helped us evolve into Homo Sapiens. Spiritually it is a symbol of transformation and purification. It can be destructive and at the same time give new life. It represents overcoming darkness and is often used in rituals and ceremonies.

Theme, Scene & People

The Continent of the Fire Element is inspired by the Earth after its formation and the volcanic regions of Iceland and the Pacific Fire Belt, as well as the savannahs and deserts of Africa.

Landscapes with volcanoes, geysers, lava flows, seas of fire, seemingly dead and red-colored forests, belts of flames created by gases and glowing deserts testify to the power that is born from the interior of the earth and the light.

Firewalkers are the main humanoid species on the Fire Continent. There are people who claim they have also seen dwarves and flaming demons at the entrances to some volcanoes. Whether this is true?

The firewalker ethnic groups are influenced by African, Arabic, Aztec influences as well as the life of matriarchal & matrilineal cultures such as the Amazons or some indigenous peoples. Their language is based on African languages such as Swahili, isiZulu, Hausa and Amharic.

The basic idea is a continent ruled by women, as only they have the genetic requirements to use fire magic. Additionally, it could be interesting to use the energy of fire for technological advancements to survive in the hot world and protect against invaders.

Inspirations

Music

The music of fire is as vibrant and passionate as the flames of the element. Ethno deep house mixed with African instruments, songs and light influences of Arabic-Indian music make you forget everything around you and your body automatically begins to move meditatively to the rhythm and fall into a trance. Best conditions for doing some voodoo.

Movies, Series & Books

Black Panther - These Marvel comics absolutely have to be on the list - Africa, traditions & myths and technology have been combined in - in my opinion - the best action hero films.   Dune - No, I'm not jumping on the Dune hype bandwagon because I devoured the prequel books written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson 20 years ago and have seen every film adaptation so far. Clearly, the order of the Bene Gesserit with their breeding program and the manipulative controls in the background has to be on this list. But life in an inhospitable and hostile environment, the technologies used to survive and the myths about the Messiah are also extremely inspiring.   Strong women - this is only a synonym for Cleopatra, the Celtic Queen Boudica, Thusnelda of the Cherusci, the Amazon Wonder Woman, the Queens Elizabeth I, Mary Stuart or Catherine de Medici, about whom several films and series have been made and books written and who are great role models because of their intelligence, power and strength. If you are interested in books like this, I highly recommend Margaret George's historical novels.
