Arna: The Eastern Continent
The continent of Arna is fairly large, though not comparable to the size of most earth continents. The homelands of halflings and elves are found here, though humans have claimed large tracts of this since their gaze first turned eastward some 3000 years ago. It is often divided into the east and western regions due to the mountainous center which can be difficult to cross.
The continent is bisected to the north by the Ulad Mountains and to the south by the Anduni Range. Most dwarves on the continent obviously stick to the mountainous center, along with the aarakocra who live in the aeries above.
On the western half are warm, humid prairies and rivers fading into more arid scrubland in the far north. To the southwest are dangerous semi-tropical forests. It is home to a cultural salad of most races as well as the most half-bloods to be found anywhere. It is one of the few places tieflings are exceedingly common as well. Dragonborn, Loxodon, Minotaur, and Tabaxi are still a little rare here, living predominantly on the other continent. The west is noted for its high levels of crime and lawlessness.
On the eastern half are rivers, lush farmlands and rolling green hills to the north with deep, fey-connected forests along the center bordering the Anduni range. The eastern coast is dominated largely by marshes and the south coast by cool temperate pine forests. It is home to large nations of humans, high & half elves, and halflings. The eastern half is noted for its aversion to magic, religious fervor, and a measure of xenophobia compared to the more tolerant west.
