Morthak turned to the others in rhe aftermath of the battle with the lava wraiths and began walking across the rainbow bridge, encouraging the rest of us to follow. One by one we joined her, leaving the remnants of the wraiths and their magma flooded cavern behind. As the Wildcards were transported beyond the reality of the prime material plane,. they were frozen in place, only Morthak freed to be questioned by some manner of cyclopean being, who told her that the Bifrosta was closed to all but those of the blood of the nephilim. Speaking in our support, Morthak was able to permit the rest of us to accompany her on this trip.   Following the rainbow-road through a non-euclidean backdrop of mythic proportions, we eventually drew close to a remarkable sight - an enormous chunk of land, drifting in a dark sky shot with many ribbons of rainbow energy. Plains gave way to mountains and this demiplane was criss-crossed with silvery rivers that gleamed dimly in the rainbow light as we approached.   Arriving with a shock we were unceremoniously dumped onto a beach. There was a Runestone here marked in Giant with a name - “Brinderweyr.” Our arrival did not go unnoticed. Some fisherfolk from a nearby village had seen our arrival and approached us. One named Brodii hailed us and invited us back to their village to speak with their chieftain. Sofia, exhausted and drained after her battle with the wraiths, seemed threatened although Skulk seemed amiable to the offer. Morthak wished to skip the affair and go straight to the forge, a place which we learned was called Elsmidja, The Forge of Giants, but eventually came round to going to the village as a step on that path.   The group rested as Skulk assisted with gutting some of the caught fish for market, as a way of thanks for their hospitality. When the work was done, and the others rested, Brodii led us to a grand longhouse where the villagers were gathering for the evening meal. There we were able to meet with their chieftan, Kotkel.   Kotkel was a Human of half-giant proportions, with a fiery red beard and it would seem something of a temper as well. He spoke of recent visitors from Brinderwyr who had brought woe upon their land. As Skulk was countering the concerns of the chieftain, another local stepped in, someone we would come to know as Asfrid, the Seidrmage of the village. A smaller humanoid figure, seemingly feminine, most of her face was covered by a wooden mask and she was missing one arm. She argued the law of hospitality for us and was able to sway the mind of the chieftain.   Asfrid had wished to speak with us, and we sat with her for the evening meal. We learned time had passed differently here. Many things forgotten in our world were still known here, such as the existence of Warforged, the Nythrian empire, and the First War with the Dragons. And in kind, our world had moved on to become unfamiliar to those of this place.   Delicately probing, Asfrid was able to allay initial concerns and discover our goal here, of the troubles with Dragons. Something she thought strange as she had not seen portents of them in the Bifhimnar, the rainbow ribbons of the sky. Still, she thought our presence and discoveries alone may be portents of Aragnar, the end times, when the giants would return from their Jotungaard realms to fight the Gods and end Dyrn.   We learned that a local, Asgaut, had helped guide the previous visitor, whom Asfrid had recognized as shapeshifter. Neither had really been heard of since, though a half-giant akin to Asgaut had been seen leading raids from the mountains with many half-giants and half-abominations of other descriptions. Asfrid thought it was possible we could serve as guards for a caravan leaving in the morning to Elsmidja.   Skulk's interest was piqueed by a people who might still have knowledge of his ancestors. While he asked many historical questions, Sofia inquired about dopplegangers. She was surprised to hear that the Wildcards had faced them before, in their journeys through Old Phandak. With his consent, she read his mind, going back to one of Skulk's encounters with a doppelganger, and was able to sense the psychic vibrations of his memories to see more than Skulk had been aware of.   Sofia divined hints linking to her own interests. Vhal’Atuan and the importance of Mylla as a key to the Path of Glass far to the North. A place where the new world of the doppelgangers could be born. Where they would no longer be entities apart but would return to "the one". Awakening from her spell, Sofia mentioned what she had discovered, sparking great concern in Skulk who had just started to think of his ward, Mylla as safe in the care of the desert nomad and their sanctuary.   The night drew to a close and Asfrid bid the Wildcards farewell. Most of the locals had already left. As the group disbanded Skulk noticed Sofia breaking off on her own and he snuck behind to watch over her. Sofia found herself a quiet spot with which to conduct a ritual to contact an otherwordly presence.   As Skulk watched her convulse in the grip of the spell, Sofia learned that her Sister Alyssa had also reached out to otherworldly powers and been deemed unworthy. Again she heard a mention of Sinu-Endak having the answers she seeks. Sofia considered the possibility that something about Mylla’s life may hold the cure to her sisters affliction.   As Sofia awoke, she found a concerned Skulk worrying over her. As the two of them returned to the others, Skulk noticed that Phaes had also been watching them. The group prepared to rest and as they did so Skulk heard the familiar voice of Mylla reaching out to him ...
