The Concordance of the Sand

Diplomatic action

2536CR

After Central attempted a small scale expansionist war into the territories of the Eastland the Gnomish Empire, the Dwarvish Empire, and The Matriarchy saw a need to unify their forces under a single banner.

A dwarven faction of Central looking to expand their territories declared war on the large dwarven faction living within Brakmondr. The dwarves of Brakmondr found themselves losing battles against the more technologically advanced Central forces until the Gnomish Empire of Gwemgrann fearing what would happen should Central not be content to simply lay claim to Brakmondr and the Black Iron Mountains provided aid. The war seemed to be turning and coming to a close until these actions were matched in kind as forces outside of the initial dwarven faction felt the need to aid their dwarven brethren and committed to assaulting and occupying gnomish border territories which the gnomes despite having adequate technology lacked the strength and fortification to repel.
The Matriarchy had long been informal allies of Gwemgrann and Brakmondr but had remained neutral not wanting to take part in a war with Central until Central forces launched a naval attack on the port city of Duivrant, a Matriarchy owned peaceful trade city where many nobles and merchants lived. These actions infuriated The Matriarchy enough for them to take action and while their military technology was not entirely up to par with Central their masteries of faith based magic, previous years of war, an at the time booming population, and two flying warships along with the defensive strongholds of the dwarves and the technology of the gnomes forced a retreat of Central forces and a quick treatise of agreement to respect territorial borders.
After the war ended the King of Gwemgrann and Brakmondr met to conduct special consul with Raja Ishita and agreed to ultimately ally themselves under the banner of The Matriarchy for the good of all the Eastlands.
