Aethel Ledorei

Aethel Ledorei was once a thriving city in the Mithral Empire, built around a powerful nexus of natural energy in the Forest of Life. The mages of the Mithral Empire attempted to harness this nexus, but in doing so, irrevocably corrupted it. Now, the city is a haunted ruin, filled with dark creatures and vengeful fey. The fall of Aethel Ledorei was a key moment in the Separation of the Wood Elves from the Mithral Empire.
An order of Wood Elven rangers and druids guards the area, both to keep the corruption within and to keep outsiders from entering. Many magic-users are drawn to the raw magical power of the site and the promise of lost Elven artifacts within.
In recent years, the city became the home of a powerful dracolich known as Andrauxin, until they were slain in 6520 by a band of adventurers and allied warriors.
Aethel Ledorei is high in elevation, nestled between mountain peaks and glaciers, and located along the shore of Lake Ledorei.
