Taridia (TAR-id-eeya)

The largest of three cities along the The Emerald Sea and the largest city-dwelling population of full elves in Emaul. Taridia is home to some of the oldest libraries on Dunaterra, as well as the most respected and acclaimed magic academy in Emaul.
While they are technically a vassel-city to Ringterel and the Dravenforth Empire, Taridia and the other cities along the coast of the Emerald Sea enjoy a large amount of leniency due to several powerful mages living within them. Such benefits include greatly reduced taxes on shipped and traded goods, as well as the ability to retain their own militia and police forces outside of the Empire's military. Technically, the Iron-Faced Army -- IFA is not allowed within the city walls, though there is speculation that agreement is not strictly kept.
The skies over Taridia are almost always overcast and cloudy, with an unusually high amount of precipitation. Most assume this is the result of heavy arcane magic twisting the reality of natural climate in the area.
