Annalise Feywine (FAY-win)

Current elected rule of Selenia . An elven woman recognized by her title as "Queen", she is technically an elected ruler, but she indefinitely suspended elections until relations between Selenavi Republic and the Marstoli Commonwealth became more stable.
When Annalise was elected in 1950, she represented an upset in the electoral system. For over 600 years, the elected leaders had all been a part of a small group of wealthy and powerful families, usually bouncing between them depending on public favor. Annalise appeared during a particularly politically turbulent time, during one of the more costly active conflicts with Fort Marstol and the Marstoli Commonwealth. Weary of the bloodshed and looking for a way out, the people of the Selenavi Republic banded behind Annalise in far greater numbers than any could have predicted. Before the families in charge could fully react, they found themselves ousted and removed from every political position in the city of Selenia.
Annalise was quick to exile the previous ruling families, loudly declaring them the root of their nation's long-standing conflict and accusing them for continuing the power struggle out of their own greed. Once they were gone, she immediately pulled all military arms back and extended a cease-fire offering to Fort Marstol, promising to join negotiations in good faith. Giovanni Russo, Governor of Fort Marstol quickly accepted, and the tentative peace that resulted managed to last through the negotiations and endure.
Citing the need for strong leadership during turbulence, Annalise also suspended all elections going forward until the peace with the Marstoli Commonwealth had a greater foothold and countermeasures could be put into place in order to ensure greedy parties could not plunge the region into war once more. Prior, elections to choose the new ruler of Selenia had been held every twenty years. After three hundred years, there has still been no word on reinstating elections.
While there are dissenters and oppositional groups in Selenia and the Selenavi Republic, the majority of the population are in favor of and support Queen Annalise. Her 300-year-long reigning period has shown great financial growth for Selenia's economy, and with the military freed from constant ongoing war there has been a much more concerted effort in protecting the outlying lands from threats of raiders or monsters. Annalise herself is known as being a courteous and wise political negotiator, with a sharp mind and an iron will.
