City of Oshiv'Ran

The "city" – if it can even be called that – is a large agricultural community located at the point where the Utukufu lake pours into the King'Ora river. Over the banks of the river, the towering trees of Antiek'Vee Forest - Oshozi's woods - stand tall and proud, providing ample space for hunters to roam.   Travelers from the main road to the north first encounter a ring of neatly arranged fields, sporting a constantly rotating variety of crops. The fields are irrigated by man-made canals that draw water from the King'Ora river. Once past the fields, the outer layer of the city proper is mostly composed of rustic-looking homes, no larger than a quaint two-story cottage.   The Center of the city is the center of religious, economic, and political affairs in the region.

Oshozi's Hold

A large building on the center square with a broad first-story base with a central portion stretching up four stories. It is by far the largest building in the entire city. The various roofs have gentle slopes lined with green-black shingles. Wooden roof trims have been carved to depict various woodland beasts – owls, stags, wolves, rabbits, bears. While no walls surround the building, two guards stand at the large, oak double doors marking the entrance to this imposing structure.

The Temple of Oshozi

The wooden longhouse has a sloping roof reminiscent of the bottom of a Viking boat. The wood of the building is covered with vines, bushes, branches, and flower with their growth left unrestricted. Dancing lights float constantly in and out of the windows. An arched set of wooden doors - painted white - mark the main entrance to the temple. On the side of the building, a little grove filled with plants, rocks, and a wooden statue allows locals to make quick offerings to the god of the Hunt.   Inside, the building is relatively simple. Wooden beams support a quaint second-story loft. The main floor is composed of one large room with a dirt floor. Rows of simple wooden benches face the far end of the longhouse - opposite of the main doors - where a small raised dais sits. Two small trees grow on the dais, surrounding a beautiful carved elegant statue fo the god of nature in his humanoid form donning the head of a stag. The stag head is pained white while the rest of the body is left the natural brown of the wood, with the exception of the white runes that trace down his body. The dancing lights illuminate the interior, creating a unique blend of fading and brightening light as they enter and leave. Murals decorate the walls.   The current High Priest is Osoosi Oshozi.

The Lone Hunter's Inn

On the outside, the building resembles many of the homes on the outskirts of the city, but significantly larger. The main room of the inn is built around a large fire pit in the center. The rooms provided are modest if compared to other cities, but quite luxurious for the region.

Barn Owl's Market

Located opposite of the Temple on the square, the market is a mixture of a viking longhouse and a traditional style barn. The wood has been pained an off white color, but has begun to chip in some areas, particularly where the sliding doors open. A wooden statue of a barn owl with its wings spread leaps out off the top of the loping roof. Lanterns line the path leading into the barn, which generally has its doors wide open.   Inside, there are no walls. Wooden pillars support the wooden arches of the roof. Each pillar has been carved with depictions of local flora and fauna. Indicative of its name, it is common for merchants, vendors, and performers to carve out a spot for themselves to sell their wares within the barn.

Anonymoose

  The local general store.

Cheese and Quackers

The local bakery. The two human owners - a couple - set up shop in the Barn Owl Market for the Great Hunt.

Wolf Pack Essentials

The local hunting and fishing essentials shop.

The Greater Elk Tavern

Located opposite of Oshozi's Hold, a wooden sign hangs in front of this large building engraved with twisting vines and the visage of an elk. It reads: "The Greater Elk Tavern". The bottom portion of the building is constructed with large stones, while the upper half is a network of interlocking wooden logs. The arching roof is decorated with hanging vines and other flora. Warm light trickles out from underneath the large oak doors and through the frosted windows. The sounds of laughter and faint music can be heard from within at almost any hour.   Inside, the warm glow of the iron lanterns illuminates the patrons of the tavern and the multiple shades of wood that compose the interior, clearly obtained from the three forests of Oshiv'Ran. Tables, booths, and an open dance floor can be found in the main room. The bar itself is front and center on the far wall with its namesake - a great elk skull - displayed prominently alongside the vast array of ales, spirits, and liquor. Stairs, off to the side of the bar, lead to a quain upstairs sitting area for those looking for a more mellow tavern experience. The tavern bartender is a shifter woman named Rill.
