Maeran
Demographics
The capital city of Maeran, is the largest city in all of Dremlia, both in size and population. At the height of the Empire, Maeran was home to all the highest ranking Human nobles in the lands, wishing to remain close to the imperial throne. Once the Empire was reduced to its current state, many of the more foreign nobles fled the city, returning to their lands. Despite this, the city of Maeran remains home to many influential and wealthy nobles. Dukes and viscounts, ladies and countesses, all kinds of nobility make their way to the Heart of the Empire.
Some of the best Human artisans and craftsman call the city home as well, with the extravagant tastes of the nobles keeping them very wealthy. Despite the image of a 'higher class of people' that is often portrayed to live in Maeran a large base of lower class and common folk also live within the city. These people perform the jobs in the city that the nobility consider themselves far too good to preform, such as manual labor, waste management, menial construction, etc. This lower class, in actuality, makes up the largest portion of the city's population.

- Black District: Housing for the lower classes.
- Stone District: Where most of the plain-skilled laborers work; blacksmiths, tanners, barbers, etc., reside.
- Golden Causeway: The merchants district, where most of the gold in the city passes hands.
- Silk District: Called the most magnificent corner of the city, where the nobles live and where the master artisans and craftsmen work their skill.
- Imperial District: The smallest part of the city, where the highest ranking nobles and authority and the city live, and where the Dragon's Flame Castle resides.
