Personal history

Keeper Lurian was born to the noble Belorre family in the city of Grenlock in the Kingdom of Pheocia. The sixth son Viscountess Delia Belorre, Lurian spent much of his childhood with the time and resources to pursue whatever interests he had. While his elder brothers spent their time frivolously throwing the Belorre family wealth into hedonistic and fruitless pursuits (a trend that would go one to explain the fall of the Belorre family from nobility), a young Lurian was interested in uncovering the mysteries of the world.   Truly enough Lurian was fascinated by many fields of study, but what interested him most even from a young age, were the mysterious Jotunn people. An account often given by the keeper himself may explain his fascination with the giant folk. Keeper Lurian was often found recounting a time in his childhood when a Jotunn had plucked him from the freezing depths of a fast moving stream near his home. He claims that the Jotunn saved his life without even uttering a word, and was gone just as quickly as they had appeared. Many of Keeper Lurian's peers claimed that the story was exaggerated or even entirely false, but Keeper Lurian was known to be a rather honest man so his account has some credibility.   Nevertheless, once Lurian had reached maturity he elected to leave his noble lifestyle and pursue the life of of a keeper. Moving to the city of Mirkanhold, where one of the largest Archives in Pheocia resides, Lurian used what wealth remained to him to pay for his studies with the Mirkanhold keepers. In only five years, Lurian was made a keeper novice, and ten years after that he graduated on to the rank of keeper adept. While not unheard of, Keeper Lurian was one of a small handful of keepers to make the rank of adept in the usual twenty-five years. Keeper Lurian retained his interest in the study of the Jotunn though in his time only two pieces of academic literature had been written on the mysterious race. Keeper Lurian would spend the next fourteen years seeking out reports of amicable or especially social Jotunn sightings.   The Keeper's travels eventually brought him to the city of Lendfast, where, in an anomalous event, a Jotunn had request a meeting with Keeper Lurian by name. Keeper Lurian immediately made his way to Lendfast, believing this to be the breakthrough to all of his research. The Jotunn identified themself as 'Free-Tongue' and told the Keeper that they had heard of their research and were sent to be interviewed about their people's culture, to an extent. From this interview Keeper Lurian wrote his most famous tome: 'A Giant's Words'. To this day, 'A Giant's Words' is the most popular and significant piece of academic literature concern the Jotunn race.   After his interview was publish, Keepr Lurian was left with even more interest and questions about the Jotunns, so he continued his travels with a renewed zeal. With varying degrees of success, Keeper Lurian recorded meeting with more Jotunn than any single person in all of known history. Despite this, none of his meetings were as revealing as his interview with the Jotun Free-Tongue. After chasing a lead on a Jotunn who was teaching local children how to gather the best berries, Keeper Lurian made his way to the city of Cyrhold. In an unfortunate turn of events, most likely due to his advancing age, in the year 239 GA, Keeper Lurian caught a deadly case of crackling lung, which ended in his death.
