Perception

Purpose

The Keepers of Knowledge are responsible for collecting and protecting all forms of knowledge in Dremlia. From world history to the proper techniques for farming beets, nothing is beyond the concern of the Keepers. The Keepers are considered the foremost scholars in Dremlia, with all educated in a basic knowledge of the world while also choosing to pursue  a specific field of study. Every region has at least one Union of Knowledge Keepers, a small group of Keepers housed together in the major cities. Keepers are also given to the task of allowing the public dissemination of knowledge, barring none from their discoveries.

Demographics

As time moves on, the number of Keepers in Dremlia have significantly dwindled, with many preferring a more adventurous or lucrative profession. It is common for third or fourth born children to pursue the occupation of Keeper, for their is little to no chance of them gaining any inheritance. The Keepers of Knowledge are open to those of any sex or race, though Human males tend to make up their bulk.

Workplace

Keepers work out of buildings known as Archives, which house not only the Keepers themselves, but also the large libraries of books they have written and discovered. While the Archives and the books within are under the sworn protection of the Keepers, the public are allowed supervised access to all the knowledge within, as is the mission of the Keepers. It is even possible for a Keeper to request a tome of knowledge from a different distant Archive to be sent to them, should their Archive not have the information available.
