Dwarvish Language in Dremlia [Old] | World Anvil

Dwarvish

While similar in structure to Elvish, Dwarvish couldn't be any more different in every other way. Dwarvish is a stong and blunt language, with little nuance or subtlety. Given the great care the Dwarves have in their craftsmanship it is a surprise that the Dwarvish language is such a travesty. It is well known that even the proper Dwarves, deep within their underground colonies, prefer to use Common or Under Common in their everyday speech, though Dwarvish still persists in formal settings or conversations of great import. Even the Code of Fire & Stone, most important piece of Dwarven literature, was originally written in Under Common, so as to reach the widest audience.
