Yeacki
The Yeacki are a unicellular and genderless fungi that thrive on the minerals they can scavenge found in various rocks. The rock must be in a small and loose form, therefore they are not a threat to contruction materials, slabs, or stone buildings, however are extreme pests that can invade processing areas of where rock dust and shaving are present. One such locatoin where the Yeaki can thrive is in Wiest, where the The Restful Exhibit Society is extremely active.
Yeacki spores are fairly hardy whereas young Yeacki are susceptible to applications of water that kills with almost 100% effectiveness. This keeps the otherwise invasive Yeacki to a manageable level, but never enough to eliminate the species. Members of Society must wipe down workstations periodically and dispose of the rock waste from their work to prevent significant colonies of Yeacki from forming.
The Yeacki are considered pests because humanoids of most types react strongly to their presence like other allergy triggers resulting in breathing difficulties, rashes, and excema. Reactions to the Yeacki presence can last far longer than the lifespan of Yeacki which is why stringent precautions are taken to control or eliminate an infestation.Basic Information
Biological Traits
Genetics and Reproduction
Like other fungi, Yeacki reproduce by the distribution of spores. The spores can surive up to a month without spawning Yeaki in dry conditions.
Growth Rate & Stages
Yeacki are very invasive under dry conditions where plenty of loose or fine rock exists. Sporse spawn young Yeacki who consume the minerals within such rock. After feasting for 44 hours upon the minerals, the young Yeaki enter a brief, up to four hours, adult state where they do not eat, but undergo a type of metamorphosis over 4 hours resulting in an explosion of Yeacki spore with a distribution radius of 5 feet.
