Zombies are tough Report

General Summary

After an ambush by The Hunter and his summoned zombies, the Five Fingers of Dorwine found themselves in a desperate battle for survival (and to keep their bedrolls clean).

As Badalona Ailendogs laid waste to several more zombies the dwarven traveller rescued earlier in the day attempted to flee on one of the heroes horses. Unfortunately in the blind panic the dwarf and his mount hit the results of a Grease spell deployed by Marble earlier in the combat. They both soon found themselves prone on the ground and at the mercy of a husk zombie. Marble had managed to elude the Hunter but not until his life sapping touch had sucked some of the life out of the young goblin. Determined to exact revenge, and prove to Bali that he was no victim, Thomas Marchant unleashed a thunderwave on the Hunter and the zombie, unfortunately killing the horse and its rider as collateral damage. Meanwhile Mehmen Ashid and Badalona were having real difficulty in dealing with one particularly stubborn zombie. Every time they thought they had it killed it pulled itself up and continued to fight. It took a devastating final blow from Badalona to finish it off before h found himself in combat with the Hunter and its remaining minion around the campfire. Finally the Five fingers discovered that magical weapons were the key to defeating their opponenet and, using his Moon-touched Longsword, Badalona was able to finish off Bali's instrument of revenge. In one final act of spite the Hunter ordered the remaining husk zombie to explode, showering Badalona - and the bedrolls is filth and poison. The next morning, with their foe defeated, the horse and dwarf buried, the Five fingers of Dorwine were able to continue their journey to Marsahurst. With the exception of a manticore flying overhead in the distance the final day's journey was without incident and delivered the heroes to the walled village of Marsahurst and the final stop before the Ashen Hills.
