General Summary
After a battle against a couple of ogres deep into The Undercrypt of Nyala the Lunatic the Five Fingers of Dorwine simply want a rest. This doesn’t happen as Alok Ravaralei, on watch, finds an arrow fired at him from out of the darkness. Soon everyone is awake and confronted by a group of hobgoblins.
Mateg, the leader of the group shows the heroes the savagely beaten and tortured body of the Reeve of Utford. He has a proposition for the party - the Five Fingers go and retrieve an artifact from the Undercrypt, and in exchange he will surrender the Reeve.
Unfortunately the heroes doubt the hobgoblins and launch an attack. Mateg responds with a fireball, almost killing Thomas Marchant, and then a lightning bolt. Things are going badly for our heroes when Marble pulls off a spectacular move. He rushes up to the hobgoblin carrying the Reeve and drops his pants, causing the hobgoblin to trip and drop the Reeve. With Badalona Ailendogs now carrying the Reeve the severely wounded heroes rush for the exit. A spell from Mehmen Ashid covers the ground in spikes stopping most pursuit but Mateg and his lieutenant manage to continue, even through a cloud of mouldy bread created by Thomas. On last legs the heroes are able to escape the tomb and ride off on horseback. The Five Fingers seem to have shaken pursuit and manage to finally rest. The next day they discover the Reeve seems to be paralysed and they are still two days from Utford. Later that day several giant owls offer to return the Reeve and inform the party that they are possibly being followed. After another night in the Ravenwood the Five Fingers are one day out of Ravenwood, with no further knowledge of where the giant scoby has gone to ground.
