Esteria

Surrounded by unique medical herbs and substances, Esteria has become a hotspot of healers and medicine men from within The Glass Desert and the surrounding area. Small buildings and tents house research facilities and sick bays that many settlers flock to when ailed. The workers here provide exceptional service, using new and powerful herbs found only within the borders of Esteria. Regularly will teams go out to Triandria or Saraze in order to test their cures and refine their discoveries, though with danger becoming ever more present in the desert, these efforts have become fewer and far between. Esteria is entirely reliant on shipments of supplies from Esteria and Triandria that have become ever more rare as the caravans abandon their efforts. A significant amount of the healers have moved to the standing settlements or left the region entirely, stifling progress and leaving these skilled folk evermore alone in the vast and unforgiving desert.

Demographics

Two elves founded the settlement, being a few of many travelers from Duredhel sent by Leoris Rilisgala to investigate the powerful flora that resides within the continent. As publicity grew so did the population, eventually becoming filled with Humans and Yuan-ti eager to share their medical knowledge of the area. Though the two founders are gone, taking with them crates of new medicine and seeds, their legacy still remains despite Esterias' ever more apparent downturn.

Industry & Trade

In its prime Esterians made many trips to the local settlements to sell their cures and elixirs, but nowadays the lack of progress and production has created a settlement deprived of coin and laborers. Many of the healers and researchers have switched from diligently working on new medicines to trying to keep Esteria alive to doing odd-jobs in other settlements in order to buy the rapidly declining settlement just a little more time and to hold onto the idea of such a unique gathering just a little longer. Most of the folk that used to do these jobs have long since abandoned their fellow Esterians to live elsewhere.

Natural Resources

Many of the herbs found within the borders of Esteria are unique to this area, with efforts to cultivate them outside of Esterian soil entirely ending in failure. To lose such a curious collection of medicinals would do many a harm to the continent, as the possibility of these discoveries spreading from settlement to settlement would be lost to the sands of time.
