Saraze

Holding the only port into The Glass Desert, Saraze imports and exports almost all goods into the Desert. The survival and economy of Saraze is vital to the other settlements within the Desert, as they bring in vital shipments of supplies from other regions that are far too distant for caravans to travel to. Ships used to regularly arrive from the Mosstein Bay, wherein their goods would be offloaded into storehouses and further transported to where it is necessary. However, as the route to the other settlements became increasingly dangerous, goods began to pile up in the storehouses with no caravans willing to move them. The citizens of Saraze are aware of their vitality to the survival of the Desert, but ignore the propositions of reinstating the guard inside the Canyon Of The Golden-Winged Snakes that would free the vital trade routes and allow a revitalization of every settlement's economy.

Demographics

Much like the rest of the Desert, Saraze is comprised of largely Human and Desert Yuan-ti. Though being a port town Saraze has a variety of races inhabiting the inns and taverns after seafaring.

Defences

Surrounded by desert and backed by the Mosstein Bay, Saraze has most of it's local guard stationed on the Northwestern and Northeastern front. This is to protect from large creatures roaming the emptiness to the Northwest, and small creatures venturing out of the Canyon Of The Golden-Winged Snakes. There is also one shoddy ship owned by the guard, a scuttled military vessel repaired by the harbormaster used to defend against any threats from inside the bay.

Industry & Trade

Being the only port available in the Desert, the import and export of goods has become the majority of Saraze's economy. Shops and inns still manage, taking in coin from the sailors and citizens, but most of the coin comes from the ships and warehouses. Additionally, there is a small section of farmland taking advantage of irrigated soil from the bay and the river.
