The Life Clock

The Life Clock is an ancient, boxlike, carved wooden clock that is suspended from a short, glowing, black metal chain, with a single, carved bone hour hand on its face. Just above the center, at the 12 o’clock position, is a grinning carved bone skull. When activated, the hand begins to slowly move counterclockwise around the green malachite face. With each revolution, the speed of the hand doubles. When it becomes a glowing blur, the clock begins drawing the life force from the person it is directed at, aging them 1 year for every minute. The stolen life force is deposited as a tiny, glowing white sphere in a drawer on the back of the device. When swallowed, a small portion of this stolen life force is added to the person’s life, either making them younger or maintaining their age for an additional amount of time equal to the stolen life force. The person whose life force is stolen begins to age and when they die, ends up as a shriveled husk or in rare cases an undead “Husk” creature.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

This machine siphons the life force of an individual, slowly killing them, all while condensing that life force into a magical pill.  Someone can swallow that pill in order to regain lost life.  However the life lost and life gained are not 1 to 1.  One year siphoned is only equal to 1/100 of a year gained or extended. Exactly what happens to the missing life or where it goes is still a mystery.
"Just exactly how this infernal machine functions and even what goes on inside of it, has thankfully been lost to the erosion of time. Glad are we that there is only one and that its whereabouts is unknown."
— Vorina Rukot (foremost expert on ancient and magical artifacts)

Manufacturing process

It is a great mystery as to how this soul sucking clock came to be.  It is clearly the product of an evil and twisted mind.  Rumors say that sketches of the clocklike object were found in the laboratory of the necromancer Arkham Null, but none of the plans or devices  were ever found.  Others say that Dumak Leth himself created it during The Priest War.  All we know is that Lyding Drap was the first to use it.
