Spiritual Fortifications For All Faiths

This is a medium sized, rectangular, religious book that is bound with a grey leather cover. Inside are white paper pages containing black printed type. Inscribed on the cover is the title, Spiritual Fortifications For All Faiths, although it is commonly referred to as just "Spiritual Fortifications". The contents of the book contain sections on each of the current deities, their common prayers, customary practices, religious symbols, and general information about each. The authors have been extremely careful to write the book in a matter-of-fact way and without bias.

Purpose

This book was created by the Temple Of Allfaith as a means to deliver to the people the prayers that they might use the most. It contains the most common and helpful prayers and practices from each of the current deities. Good, neutral, and even evil deities are included. One never knows when appeasing the right deity might be beneficial.

Document Structure

Publication Status

This book is openly available for use at all temples of Allfaith and can also be purchased there. Additionally, many libraries have been given copies of the book for the public to peruse.

Historical Details

Background

The Temple Of Allfaith sees the people as falling into one of three categories. Those that have no faith, those that pray to all deities depending on the circumstances, and those that focus on only a few or one deity. This book was meant for those that fall into that middle group and a few of the others who are on the edges. This was a way to unite the people of many faiths and have them only need one book and have them worship at one place instead of having to choose between dozens. The people are free to explore all faiths and dig deeper into any that interest them. At its core, the book is an introduction to various faiths and a guide for further exploration of not just the religions, but also of ones self.

History

The exact date of first publication is not truly known, as the Temple of Allfaith has existed in some way, shape of form, for centuries and has been distributing their book for most of that time. Early books had no dates and can only be aged by the type of construction materials used and the deities that are contained within the pages. As the years went on and the faith gained more followers, more books could be produced and sent to farther locations.   While always slow to change, this book has not been updated since before The Sundering over 700 years ago. And while there is speculation that there might have been a dramatic shake up in the pantheon of deities, few are willing to discuss it out loud, let alone publish such profound thoughts. For if a god can die what does that mean for a person, for a worshipper, or even for those who have passed on from this mortal realm. It seems less troublesome to just assume all deities are, as they have always been.   However, people are free to do what they want with their own copies of the book, and many of the faithful have started to edit what they believe. Some recently found modern books do have deities crossed out and new gods and goddesses hand written in. Where this new knowledge comes from is unknown at this time. Whether it is just speculation, wishful thinking, or divine inspiration remains to be seen.

Public Reaction

Most spiritual people find the book very useful as well as convenient, and most religious households have at least one copy. When unexpected situations occur, it is much easier to use the book than it is to travel to a religious place of worship.
