Village of Baroiva

The village of Barovia is the saddest place in the land, its residents so terrified of Strahd that they rarely venture from their homes. The village lies in the shadow of Castle Ravenloft, buried under fog but still unable to hide from the vampire’s sight.

The player characters performed a variety of missions at the town.

They cleared a poisoned well for Bildrath earning his thanks and a discount on goods.

They solved a series of murders involving Father Lucian feeding soul-less Barovians to his son Doru. Doru was revealed to be vampire spawn and while he attempted to flee was killed by the party. Father Donavich hung himself when the secret was revealed.

They assisted Ireena and Ismark Kolyonovich in completing the funeral rites of the Morninglord for their deceased father Indirkov.

They promised Mad Mary they would attempt to find her missing daughter Gertruda

The party agreed to escort Ireena to either to the walled city Vallaki for safety or to the Abby at Krezk.

The church needs a new Father. Ismark has requested if you take Ireena to Krezk to see if they would send the priest in training to replae Donovich.

Geography

Tall shapes loom out of the dense fog that surrounds everything. The muddy ground underfoot gives way to slick, wet cobblestones. The tall shapes become recognizable as village dwellings. The windows of each house stare out from pools of blackness. No sound cuts the silence except for mournful sobbing that echoes through the streets from a distance. All the shops in the village are permanently closed, and the unoccupied shops have been looted of anything valuable. Claw marks cover most of the walls. When the fog eventually burns off, Castle Ravenloft looms over the village, like a lance piercing the sky.
