Tiamat (a.k.a. Mother of Dragons, The Chromatic Tyrant)

Tiamat is the Old God of greed and vengeance in the Salchyreon and the patron deity of chromatic dragons and chromatic dragonborn.
Appearing during the Divine Epoch sometime after the manifestation of Asgorath, Tiamat sought to conquer the plane for chromatic dragons and was banished to the Nine Hells by Moradin, where she waits in Avernus for her chance to return and conquer her home.

Artifacts

Tiamat imbued a portion of her divine power into five stones known as the Dragon Souls, bequeathing them to her chosen among each of the five chromatic dragon flights. Each stone greatly increases its bearer's power, allows the bearer to wield magic, and slows the bearer's aging. These artifacts allowed her already long-lived draconic champions to grow into mighty greatwyrms who were capable of standing up to the other gods who opposed Tiamat's tyrannical aspirations. Moreover, each gemstone acts as a vessel for its bearer's soul so that when the bearer dies, their memories are preserved within the artifact for future champions of the dragon queen to continue their predecessor's work. These gemstones were shattered during the Dracomachy and their fragments were scattered across the plane.
