Spiked warrior
Remember to always stab the heart before moving on to the next target or else they will stab you in the back.
One of the secret weapons that Xalna deployed during the War of Misunderstanding was a set of elite fighters who were equipped with conduits that enhanced their bodies. The conduits look like long needles on a bangle, where the needle is angled in such a way that it stabs into the arm at a shallow angle.
The enhancements were all directly related to how well someone could fight. Among the effects were the complete removal of most pain sensations, made the body tire far less quickly and put the visual and auditory senses on a hairtrigger.
There were some serious disadvantages. For one, the body of the user seemed to deteriorate very quickly, with heart attacks being common after one or two years. Furthermore the mind generally started to slip into madnes, causing irrational and self-destructive behaviour.
In war these disadvantages wouldn't matter too much and so some warriors took on the spikes willingly. Because these conduits can not be manufactured, Xalna relied on a small stash found decades before the war. As the war went on the stash was deminished and eventually captured.
During the war many spikes were destroyed, but those that remain intact have become illegal to use and a heated discussion has started weather or not they should be destroyed. The proponents of destruction argue the harm they can do, while the opponents say that one should never destroy what remains from the time of the Antediluvian.

Dangers & Hazards
As warriors and soldiers the obvious hazard are whatever weapons the enemy has, but a less obvious answer is that the spikes inevetably deteriorate the users body.
Spiked warriors were mainly used by Xalnans operating in the desert during the War of Misunderstanding, due to the enhanced survivability.
