Court of the Rabbit King

The Court of the Rabbit King is the autonomous governing body that presides over the Hare-fera city-state within the Rakal Confederation. The court is composed of the elected Rabbit King and their appointed courtiers, whose titles and duties are determined by the king upon appointment. While the average court size among the other kings in the Confederation is smaller, the current Rabbit King has a court of thirteen members:
  • The Royal Confidant is a trusted advisor to the king, providing counsel and serving as a sounding board for their ideas. They also act as a proxy for the king when they are unavailable or unable to fulfill their duties. Due to this role, the Confidant has unofficially become known as the Supreme Justice, as they often preside over legal cases in the king's absence.
  • The Court Druid advises the king on matters of nature and the natural order, and as Kybaleen is the primary deity of the hare-fera state, they also serve as the highest religious official on the Court and advise the king on spiritual matters.
  • The Court Wizard advises the king on matters related to magic and provides magical services to all members of the Court.
  • The Steward serves as a voice of the king, conveying the king's wishes and making decisions on her behalf in smaller matters.
  • The Housecarl is responsible for the king's personal safety and organizes the security of the palace and all members of the Court.
  • The Spymaster advises the king on both domestic and foreign affairs and serves as the head of the kingdom's intelligence agency. They are responsible for gathering information and carrying out covert operations in order to protect the kingdom's interests.
  • The Royal Physician advises the king on matters of public health and serves as the personal doctor to all members of the Court as well as other important individuals.
  • The Marshal is the highest-ranking military officer in the king's army, second only to the king herself. They advise the king on military matters and lead the army when the king is not commanding it directly.
  • The Captain of the Guard advises the king on matters concerning local law and public security. As the highest-ranking member of the city guard, their title reflects their role in overseeing the guard's activities.
  • The Treasurer advises the king on matters of wealth and trade, and is responsible for tracking the kingdom's taxes as well as managing the palace finances.
  • The Master of Ceremonies advises the king on matters related to public morale and coordinates various ceremonial events such as festivals, banquets, and other important occasions.
  • The Majordomo is the highest-ranking palace servant who oversees the palace staff and ensures that the palace is well-maintained.
  • The Chancellor is the only position that is mandatory for the king's Court as per the terms of the Confederacy. The Chancellor advises the king on internal diplomacy within the Confederacy and represents the king in the national assembly.
