Adonai Expanded:

In Desecrate, Adonai is one of two gods. This is due to the Marcionite and Gnostic view of Christianity that is present in this world.

These two gods are Adonai, the God of the Material (most often associated with the Jewish God), and Elohim, the God of the Spirit.

Adonai, being the God present in the Jewish texts, was the creator of the world. They are the one who physically created the world and everything on it while Elohim contributed ideas and souls.

He is humanoid, and created man in their image. Immediately some people might notice a difference, and that is the lack of an animal-skull shaped head on humans. While Adonai is always shown with a ram-skull head, that is not their face. It has been so long since they have taken it off, but they can take it off.

As we can see in the scripture shown in the Myth of Adonai, Adonai had isolated themself in nature after the creation. They had done what was asked of them by Elohim, they saw no need to stick around.

That was, until He contacted them again and asked them to oversee the life of the Son of Man. This task proved difficult with their odd build. Towering over humans that you created did not tend to make them more friendly to you.

After the Son of Man died and was ressurrected to join his father, Elohim, in the heavens things got rough for Adonai. The Son of Man was truly the only reason their creation tolerated them, and now he was gone.

After the death, the Son of Man's disciples, known as the Apostles, started a religion in his name. At the time, this was the proto-orthodox church, which would become the Marcionite Church.

This church, not knowing who Adonai was, just that they were close to the Son of Man throughout his life, started hinting him. They refused to listen to reason, believing Adonai to be a demon sent to corrupt the Son of Man and taint their Salvation.

This began a tumultuous time for Adonai, who was not on the run from not only their creations, but also from the church that they had helped create!

Eventually, they were caught. After all, it was the will of Elohim, and who was to deny that will?

From here, Adonai was kept in captivity. They were chained up in the basement of churches, moving every couple hundred years until they came to rest most recently in a Small Town Parish. Now, though, thinks were different. They could feel that a new Messiah had been born...
