History

Sarah and Kate have been together since 1984. Sarah proposed to Kate in August 1987. With the help of a donor, Kate gave birth to their first daughter Agnes in 1990, and Sarah gave birth to their second daughter Beth in 1994. They entered a civil partnership in 2004 as the closest thing they could get to marriage, and subsequently double-barrelled their surnames to Davies-Adler and Adler-Davies, after Sarah was refused to change her name to Adler, in 2005.

Kate calls Sarah 'Duck' and Sarah calls Kate 'Hook', after their first date to a funfair where Kate won Sarah a large stuffed toy giraffe in a 'Hook-a-Duck' game.
