Identifying Characteristics
Algie is a striking individual, given his grey eyes and white hair against his dark skintone. He has white eyebrows and eyelashes also, and a sizeable patch of pigmentless skin on his forehead.
Physical quirks
Algie has a form of vitiligo, resulting in some pigmentless patches of skin, mostly on his hands and feet but most noticeably on his forehead just below his hairline. Algie also has pale skin on his lips and chin. He has white eyelashes and eyebrows related to this. His hair entirely lacks pigment and is a stark white, which came about with the acquisition of his powers in 2011. Acquiring his powers also caused Algie's eye colour to change from brown to pale grey, and gave a slight blue tint to his sclerae.

Algie's vitiligo is almost directly related to his contact with the Poltergeist in 2007 and related radiation exposure.
Special abilities
Algie has a variety of superpowers. Most notably, he has super speed. His actual maximum speed is unknown, but he regularly tops out at around 175 miles per hour in the day, and has been recorded as running at 214 miles per hour under a full moon. Algie is almost entirely invulnerable to harm at night and has a natural resistance to radiation. He can see perfectly in the dark and can control his perception of time, speeding it up or slowing it down within nanoseconds. He also has a highly accurate 'danger sense' that appears to be a limited form of clairvoyance. Algie's powers seem connected to the phases of the moon, and the increase in his powers at night is greatest on the full moon and barely perceptible on the new moon.
Apparently unrelated to his wider powers, Algie can also see and communicate with ghosts and other paranormal entities to a greater degree possible by other humans. He may have inherited this ability from his mother Shanna, though he didn't become aware of it until his teens.

Personal history
Algie was born to his single mother Shoshanna 'Shanna' Silvermann, and raised by her with the help of her older sister Reba and Reba's husband Felix Everton. Algie was named after his maternal grandfather Algernon Silvermann I, and his uncle Kaspar Silvermann, who had died in an accident at the age of seven. Algie and Shanna continued to live with Reba and Felix until Algie was four, and his cousin Petra was born. Shanna then moved out of her sister's home and into a second floor apartment nearby where she lives to this day.

Algie skipped tenth grade and graduated high school at the age of seventeen in 2004. After two semesters studying journalism, he dropped out of college. With encouragement from a friend, he enrolled in Nightbourne College in 2008, and completed his journalism degree in 2010.
