The doctrine is a capitalistic meritocracy worship were the individuals that are prosperous in life are the virtuous individuals. The individuals that are skilled and successful in life are encouraged to join the cult of prosperity.
When you are a member of the cult of prosperity so are one required to pay a religious tithe to the orzhov syndicate main church. If one is not a member of the cult of prosperity when it is much harder to achieve any form of success in any territories that the orzhov have power.
The cult of prosperity is mainly an organization that they individuals aligned to orzhov syndicate support, but it has grown very large and so have orzhov influence and one can find many different guild members connected to it.
As a member of the cult of poverty it is your goal to stay affluent and teach others to follow you example. But it also touches on you ascending your mortal limits. Most ways to achieve immortality is achieved through the cult of prosperity. But if one can’t afford the full thing it is very common to be able to buy an extra few centuries.
