The Lucky Liar
Fishers and woodcutters gather here in the evenings to weave tall tales—the more outrageous and embellished, the better.
The inn is owned by an older halfling couple, Virena and Frita Sweetpea, but due to them both getting by on years, most often patrons of the establishment see younger hirelings working behind the counter and serving drinks to the customers. Most notable of these people are Beatrice Willow, a dark-haired human woman roughly in her thirties, and Yngve Teamantle, a young halfling man in his early twenties.
After the closing of the Ramshackle Inn, the Liar has become the number one spot where people come to spend their evenings, although the establishment does not offer rooms.
Architecture
The Lucky Liar caters to the halfling population of the area in particular. The ceilings of the building are on the lower side, as are most of the seats in the building. It does have a designated Tall-Folk area, with a medium-sized bar, but most of the common area has been designed with Small-folk in mind. While the building itself is made of local timber, much to the customs of Lonelywood, the doors and window panes are covered with brightly painted illustrations of fantastical beasts, many of which might appear anatomically incorrect to those who have actually witnessed any such animals. Green is the most prevalent colour both in tapestries as well as rugs and the heavy curtains that keep warmth in, making the tavern appear particularly cosy.
