Founding of Camp Hope

Humanity proved to be as adaptable as alawys and was able to survive the first wave of the virus. The human infrastructure did not survive. There were plenty enough humans left alive to begin the process of rebuilding and it wasn't a really long time after the Fall that the rebuilding began.     Barrett Kory Averill, Daniella Olivia Giannino and Racquel Vera Donnelly founded Camp Hope with the dream that they would find the Cure. They did their best to gather anyone who had medical training. They collected every medical test book that they could find to build the New Medical Library. They did their best to rebuild the medical knowledge that society once enjoyed.   But the Cure eluded them. In their waning years they came to realize that they would have to pass the dream on to those they were leaving behind. They couldn't accept that humanity would never reclaim its rightful place as the dominate species on the planet.   There are not many details about how Camp Hope was established. But the founders' ideals where written down for those who came after them so that it would always be remebered that the camp was built on the promise of restoration. The book: Hope's Purpose was written by Barrett Kory Averill. It is clear that he wrote this for his children. But given his historical importance to the camp, his children decided to share the book with the public by donating it to the New Medical Library.
