Shade

Zymera Castelle's loyal companion, Shade is a raven of exceptional intelligence. Zymera found the bird just after joining Verdant Circle in an abandoned nest. She raised the bird, feeding and caring for him until he was large enough to fly. The first time he took wing, Zymera thought it was the last she'd ever see of Shade, but he returned the next day with a small glass bead as a gift. From then on, the bond was sealed. Zymera never cages her friend, allowing him to fly free as he will. Any time he takes off, he always returns within a day or two. Most times he returns with a small trinket for Zymera. Mostly they are just pretty stones, but occasionally, he has an earring or coin in his beak.
