Vesryn (a.k.a. Vez)

A free-spirited tiefling who discovers that he is a sorcerer when he and his ship mates find a magical island, before getting separated in a big storm back at sea.

The crew split up to cover more ground. Wandering around on the island, something pulls Vez deeper into the green foliage. It's like a thread dragging him into the forest and all he can do is follow its' calling. He finds a clearing among the trees. A spring, strangely illuminated by an unknown source, catches his eye. He kneels down in front of the clear water, his heart beating harder in his chest. Vez cups his hands and lifts them to his lips. The tugging of his chest disappears, but nothing else really happens. Though, this must be the best water he has ever tasted. He grabs his water skin and fills it with the springs' water.

Body Features

This tiefling is slim and dexterous, with light purple skin and a long, smooth tail. Parts of his skin are covered with thin scales, this because of his draconic bloodline; it adorns his shoulder blades, elbows, shins etc.

Special abilities

Vesryn was born with magic in his blood. His heritage gave him powers that naturally come with being a tieflling: casting illusions, creating small sounds or lights, and also mastering the demonic language Infernal. What he did not know of was his much stronger magical powers. Deep inside rested a force that danced like the ocean. He has sorcery in his blood.
During his travels on the Blue Eye things on the sea usually turned his way. Opposing ships had stronger head-wind, slowing them down and pushing them away. If a crew mate went overboard they never washed far away, it was like the waves carried them beside the ship.
He knows the cantrips Mage Hand; Mending; Minor Illusion; Shocking Grasp; Thaumaturgy.
The more powerful spells he knows are Charm Person; Hellish Rebuke; Fog Cloud; Thunderwave; Gust of Wind.

Loose clothes, a lot of colour (because he can afford them) and nice details.

Specialized Equipment

Proficiency using weapons like light crossbows, daggers, darts, quarterstaffs and slings. He can navigate using the neccesary tools and he can pilot a ship.

Vesryn grew up in Lucillvi, a village on the island Andiver Phergo in the Silver Archipelago. He was the only child in his family. His mother is a tiefling while his father is human.
He had an normal upbringing, nothing special. Sometimes small, strange things happened around him, but they didn't really know what it was. He thought his life was a bit boring, so he wanted to go on adventures. Went out to sea using a stolen merchant's ship when he was around 15 years old. After a few years he had his own boat and crew that explored the secrets of the coasts and deserted islands.

His strongest relations are to his crew mates, they are like his family. His captain, Avo, almost became like a mother hen towards him. A rival pirate gang has been on their heels, stealing their loot, hijacking their explorations and all that.
