Body Features
He is at medium height and has a slight athletic build. More flexible than strong. Lean and pale. A bit bad blood circulation (or whatever it is) so his fingers are usually pretty cold.
Has a defined jaw, but otherwise fairly soft features. Straight nose and rounded eyes. Sometimes he lets his small beard grow, but has it shaved most of the time.
Only those who are intimate enough with him will see his birthmark. The mark sits on his left hip. He himself thinks of it as a flame, something that hurts and devours.

Apparel & Accessories
As one of the most prolific characters in Darta, he must always appear in great shape. There are stylists that picks out all his clothes. He wears fancy garments, like embroidered shirts, colorful vests and sometimes has a short mantle on his shoulders. If it's for a special occasion, he adorns himself with accessories like earrings, necklaces and bracelets, and wears even more expensive, decorative clothing.
By himself, he usually puts on simple garments and doesn't make a big effort of looking good. This rarely happens, due to him having a lot of business to attend to.

Personal history
Devian was born on a dark night, in the beginning of winter. Seline's delivery was slow and painful, but when her son arrived to the world he was a healthy baby.
As a young boy Devian was adored by everyone around him. Even though his parents had much to do as the rulers of a country, they sometimes brought their little bundle with them on meetings. Devian's nannies and care takers were very kind to him, treating him with unconditional love even though they were not of the same blood.
A year after his own birth, his first sister was brought into the world. Terin became the new focus, but as first born and heir to the throne, Devian never lost his main spot. Edon and Seline made sure Devian was raised with the help of many different people, each with their own unique talents and traits to educate the prince in all kinds of fields. He was cooped up with different teachers and his nannies most of the time, quickly learning child skills like speaking, walking and staying quiet (when needed).
Iris was born another year later, and became the third and last sibling in the bunch. The three of them often played together, not really having any other choice as there were not many other children in the castle. Devian was a little more sheltered and removed from other kids than his two sisters. Time that could be spent playing with other kids was instead spent playing learning games with his tutors.
Devian might have been seen as shy as he grew a little older, not speaking much to new people and avoiding the too big smiles. Later he understood thta he would have to play along eith the flattering and superficiality
Even though some interactions where very shallow and only superficially flattering he only saw the smiles and glad tones in their voices. When growing older he started to sense people's true intentions, their conversations steeped in flattery. With his position he still had to engage with them, letting people think he fell for all their sweet words. But he was smart and intuitive, even as a young boy. Even when he got younger sisters his parents never stopped paying close attention to him. Not necessarily caring attention, more like a teacher figuring out the best way to teach their pupil. He was never really left alone, but still he became quite lonely. Devian, as the precious crown prince he was, mostly played with his sisters in the castle. When other royal or noble families visited he could play with the kids, but usually he was alone in the castle. Devian's grandmother Agathe (Seline's mother) moved to the castle as she grew old. Seline wanted her to have the best care for the last years of her life and asked her to move from her home in Ryymer to the castle in Orebo. Devian was 6 years old when she moved in, and often stopped by her chambers to keep her company. The two were very close. Devian loved going on walks around the castle garden when she had enough strength. They could sit on a bench by one of the fountains for hours, reading a book or just watching nature. The royal family bought a dog when Devian was 12 years old. They named it Atlas. She was a delilian pure breed, big, strong and soft. Devian often walked her around the garden, sometimes bringing Agathe. He loved to play catch in the long corridors of the castle, much to the maids dismay. Agathe died when Dev was 17 years old. It hurt to lose her, and it took a long time for him to "get over" her death.Sexuality
He doesn't really know. Devian has never had sexual feelings for someone, nor has he felt in love before.
Education
Devian's parents gave him the best education for his future as king. He had personal teachers, even separated from his sisters to get the best education he could receive. Many long days were spent in a classroom in front of a book instead of learning by doing. He often grew tired and bored, still trying his best to keep his head in his studies.
Since he could do things by himself, etiquette had been one of the cornerstones of his education.

Motivation
He wants to be a good king one day, but he doesn't want to throw away his own life as the price for it. He needs to find something that's important to him.
Likes & Dislikes
Dev likes when things are calm and quiet. Likes to get up early in the morning and walk around the castle, greeting the personell that has started working. Similar to that, he likes to walk around the castle's big garden. Dev is interested in flowers and plants, and the garden is a great opportunity to study them. He is interested in mystic creatures, humanoid or animalistic, and takes the time to talk to the more rare guests at events held in the capital. He especially takes a fancy to shapeshifters, partly because of jealousy. When he needs to go on diplomatic missions to remote areas he is glad to get out of the busy city and to meet people who barely know him. He feels they are more genuine and not as intent on befriending him just for the benefits of knowing royalty. He likes snow, because when the ground is covered, sound is muffled and he feels calm from it.
He dislikes being completely alone, even though he needs it to recharge. It's more that he needs to know that someone is in his vicinity. Dev is not a big fan of alcohol. Once he got a bit too drunk and felt that he lost control of himself and it scared him. Since then he only drinks beverages with little to no alcohol.

Knowledgeable about the world around him, reads a lot of books (but could get better at actually talking to the leaders of some other places). He tells convincing lies, but usually only uses them to hide his emotions and state of being. Very good at playing the piano, has performed on some banquets before.

He has heavy self-esteem issues, and a bad relationship with himself. He's bad at seeing his good sides, and batters down on himself if he does something even slightly wrong. He is a bit pessimistic, especially when it's about him. Dev is paranoid about people turning on him, or hurting him verbally, mentally or psychologically. In some situations he has become stressed and have wanted to disappear from where he stood. Wishes he was more confident, in himself and outwards. Dev also wishes he was more rational and logical, but his emotions can easily take over.

Likes to clean, finds it therapeutic. Even though he has employees who are supposed to clean his room, he does it by himself every so often. Likes to take long, hot baths, usually with some kind of aroma (flowers etc.).

Has a very strong connection to his sisters, they are the ones who are closest to him. He looks up to his parents, they are his role models. His father Edon has a sister who lives in another kingdom with her new family.

They can often get into deep conversations about a lot of tough subjects. He was very close to his grandmother, Seline's mother Agathe. She understood what others didn't and she was always clear on how proud she was of him even though he wasn't like his father. They talked often, and she had a lot of wisdom to share from her long life.Religious Views
Not strongly religious, but do believe in some of the gods. He usually prays for emotional support. He believes in some kind of afterlife, either a kind of rebirth or a merger with a life force of some kind.

Introverted, but is very capable of speaking to people. Kind and selfless. Dev puts up a thick wall when talking to other people, he doesn't want to show his shyness. He never stands to close, he shows respect for personal space. He has a calm and soft voice, and speaks very clearly.
When Dev gets way too tired he wants cuddles and hugs.
Hobbies & Pets
When Dev was 14 the family got a dog. His name was Atlas and he was a medium sized dog. Dev is the one who bonded the most with Atlas and he takes most care of him. They often go out on walks, either in the city or the garden.
If he could he would probably adopt a bunch of stray dogs, but his mother has strictly forbidden him to do it ever since he was young. He looks forward to adopting dogs when he becomes king.
