1 - 7 If Its War You Want...

General Summary

While the Sinners were making deals, the Halsted Boys were not going to just sit around. First, they went to Billy E and provided him a gift - they kidnapped this little hot thing he had his eye on but had rudely rebuffed him. He readily agreed to stay out of any conflicts on Halsted Ave. War was declared.   The first operation was to fire bomb O'Tooles and they were highly successful, causing an alarming amount of damage and closing down the store indefinitely. As this was going down, their allies the Bishop Street Greasers went a few blocks south, pulled up in front of the Five Four's whorehouse and opened fire, killing Chris along with one of the girls.   To say the gang was caught off guard and pissed off was an understatement. It took them awhile to calm down and get back on track and just focus on the matter at hand: taking out the Halsted Boys. First, they had to exploit their weakness and lower their tier. Then, the Backyard Bulls would follow up with a hit squad and take them out.   Bennie was able to find out that in the late 1880s, the building that currently serves as the HQ for the Halsted Boys was for a couple years haunted by a powerful and nasty poltergeist. It was exorcised, but if the crew could find the spirit and release her back in the building she would cause utter chaos and weaken the H Boys' hold.   Sean went and met with Father Brannigan, who in turn took him down to the branch office of the Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago. They meet some of Father Brannigan's old buddies and swap some stories before heading down to the records department. The location and identification number of the urn holding the spirit in question is found and Sean takes this back to the crew.   With masks and guns, later that after noon the Southside Sinners are making entry into an a warehouse along the Chicago river owned by the Roman Catholic Church. Almost immediately they are met with Father ??? who manages the building. The crew is able to juice him into begrudgingly showing them where to find the urn so as not to make anymore trouble. They find the urn and grab it along with several others. Their exit is blocked by two large, growling rotweilers, but Jesse schmoozes 'em with the treats Sean thought to bring.   Spirit urn in hand, the crew goes about gearing up. A pickup is stolen and mounted with a heavy machine gun procured from a friend of a friend of an alleged IRA agent. Jesse goes to Bennie and gets some of the grenades from the Ashland Yard heist the previous week. Then, the crew launches a full frontal assault on 34 W. 50th Pl. There are hand grenades, heavy automatic fire and bodies flying everywhere. With this distraction in full swing, Charlie darts around the corner, up the alley a ways and then into the basement. A few minutes later he has found a new bike and the perfect place to unleash the poltergeist. His shoulder is seriously tweaked in the effort, but the spirit is released and immediately sets about causing mayhem.   The crew meets at the end of the alley and after Charlie gets his new bike in the truck, they are off. A spur of the moment idea takes them a couple blocks north and west to Alliance Auto Shop on Bishop St. The Sinners unleash the remaining grenades and rounds they have into the HQ of the Bishop St. Greasers.   Earlier, Jesse arranged for Los Asesinos to dump their truck. They met them at the prearranged alley and hopped into a waiting truck that took them back to their place. They spent a little time and effort trying to ruin the name of the Bishop St. Greasers. As low as it already was.   And finally, the crew has made enough of a name for themselves that the powers that be have grown interested in them. Tommy is approached by Harry who without saying it, tells him that he is on the side trying to kill Joe Bagels and they want the Sinners to join the cause. At almost the same time, Sean is approached by Beans who tells him that Bagels wants to meet the crew and employ them.   It takes the gang all of about 20 seconds to decide they want to side with Bagels and The Outfit and not with the upstarts. A meeting with Bagels is arranged and they go to see him. The beginning of a relationship is quickly formed and Tommy sweetens the pot by telling him about his conversation with Harry and that he might have an in into the enemy.
