The Gharan Nai Rebellion
A historical uprising of a group of Nailux Ghoul against the leaders of Covered City of Ghara. The rebellion was a result of the stigma against Nailux Ghouls and the subhuman treatment of them amongst society.
The rebellion ultimately failed, but it did draw attention to the fact that Nailux Ghouls were still, in fact, people. The Gharan political climate changed afterwards, and while nowadays Nailux Ghouls are still ostracised and have heavy stigma, Ghara now has laws regarding citizenship and acknowledged sanity of Nai.
The Conflict
Outcome
Soon after the event, much of Ghara was in a state of unrest as both sides suffered losses. There was little change apart from rebuilding areas of Ghara and returning to normal, up until the trial of the Nailux Ghouls who were captured. In many eyes, the resulting execution afterward the trial was considered martyrdom.
Aftermath
Nailux Ghouls are still looked down upon and cast out of Gharan society, but now have designated rights within Gharan law considering their citizenship and sanity. Most Nai wished that the battle had a much larger effect upon their society, and anguish that after all that time there was only a few laws to show for it.
Most of those who reference the rebellion now are sympathetic towards Nailux Ghouls, as many of those on the Gharan side tend not to talk about it at all.
