Newell

A small farming village near Cheriton, Newell is peaceful and quiet.  With a remarkably high population of half-elves and a decent proportion of the village being magic-users, their crop output vastly outweighs the amount of effort in the fields.  Their winter squash are particularly prized for jams and preserves, and each year each family leave one or two to grow exceptionally large for the famous squash sailing races from Avenel down to Riverview.

Industry & Trade

Croplands bring in almost all the money in this village.

Tourism

None to speak of in the village itself, although crowds do gather for the Squash Sailing it tends to be at the finishing point.

Architecture

Well-crafted stone cottages with thatch roofs surround three pretty squares- one is turfed for games and livestock, one has flat pavers and is used for festivals, events and the weekly market, and the third has a pretty little lake and contains the blacksmith, the tavern and a tiny village store.
