Cultures in Daly

Cultures in Daly are broadly regional, and rarely race specific.   For example, in the deserts to the North, a culture broadly reminiscent of nomadic Saharan tribes exists, with small tribes moving seasonally along paths they have followed for millennia. This contrasts with Fort Roblack and Dragonwatch, whose culture might more bring to mind colonial army settlements in Africa.   The ancient cities and towns along the Liot, on the other hand, vividly evoke Ancient Greece with their low white buildings surrounding lush courtyards, and huge temples- while a little further south the roaming residents of the Kanab Flats might bring Mongolian tribes to mind.   The rich midlands to either side of the Lovil are the most homogenous, being broadly reminiscent of medieval European cultures, although even here you will find significant variation East-to-West and North-to-South.   Speaking of, as you progress further south you are more likely to find a culture that is more similar to the Vikings than anything else, while up the wild East coast you could easily recognise hints of Celtic wildness.   There are a very few settlements where the culture is driven by the race of it's residents. Scott's Hill is one of these, being almost entirely Dwarf, and the Halfling village of Piper's Field another. Ketchikan is mostly Goliath, although the normal population is tiny, swelled only at Festival times with an overwhelming goliath-ness.
