During a great battle in the early years of Dall Glic a pack of wolves were sent to destroy a dragon. This dragon was given to the enemy side to aid their cause, it's destruction would help turn the war to their side. They managed to kill the creature, but as the blood poured out it singed and burn their fur turning it silver. This new color marked them as heroes among their kind and have been revered as great Alphas. There were originally seven, but during the years only four packs have a silver wolf as their Alpha.

Every 5 years the pack leader's with a selected Beta have a big meeting with the Elder Alphas. They are comprised of seven previous Alphas the pack leaders as a group chose to be a head of these meetings. Mostly these meetings are a get together to see new Alpha's and to update territory they have acquired or lost.
