Watchtower

The first floating island of our world that imposed itself at the near center of the Region of Calm Islands, almost like an eye that watched over all the surrounding vassals of the empire. Run by its Overseer selected from the Imperial Army of Ruanon, the settlement itself was more of an encampment where the imperials rested, some with their families. They lived off of supplies and spent their days patrolling the surroundings islands to collect Repelgil and keep their control of the territories.   A Portal was used to get on and off the island, which has been built prior to its lift-off, and still stands amidst its ruins. Some Mages able to cast levitation spells have also been assigned here as a backup plan in case the portal was destroyed; however, nobody expected the entire island to crumble onto the ground as it fell after four years.   Researcher's called it a costly miscalculation for something still unknown to us when it comes to the mysteries of the Repelgil.

Demographics

Used to be entirely composed of Soldiers and Guards (and sometimes their families) appointed by the Commander of the empire.

Government

Watchtower was not only the first floating island of Dali'en, but was also the first imperial outpost of Ruanon. Created with the sole purpose of keeping the surrounding vassals under control, yet remain something that did not disrupt the local power balance, it was the fully dependent version of a Military Settlement. Contrary to the hierarchy of military settlements like Hobitar; Watchtower had no Ruler, nor nobility, and no economy of its own. It entirely relied and lived off of supplies from the capital, although in practice the supplies were gained by taking a cut from what the vassals exported towards the empire.   ORGANIZATION CHART NOT AVAILABLE

Infrastructure

The island itself was pretty large, as lifting it from the sea revealed some territory that's previously been underwater. The extra space outside of the main outpost was used to build things to occupy the families that asked to be moved here. Even a small school's been built where the parents could act as Professors to teach their children.
