Ruler (ruːlə)

A Ruler is a leader of a settlement. The way these Rulers come into power varies from one settlement to another. A nation is composed from the federation / alliance of Rulers, but apart from common national law they still govern their settlements as they wish, and may even join another nation if the other Rulers are not to their liking.

Duties

They need to listen to their citizen, make changes to better their settlement, make important decisions, hold meetings, and satisfy the wishes of their Royalblood families.

Responsibilities

A Ruler is responsible for the reputation of their settlement. A Ruler that doesn't represent their citizen will be rebelled against.

Benefits

They own their settlement, usually live in a palace, and collect taxes from the Lords. They also have a lot of political power and dali working for them.

There is usually a crown or a similar status symbol that they wear.
