Cawold

The great city of Cawold. Marvelous it is! The clinking and clanging of the great foundries and the airship yards! Oh! Look ahead! Is that a Warforged?! And he is hawking his wares on this very street?! My what a WONDERFUL city this is! Never have I wished to see the work of great researchers and tinkerers on the artifacts of the past! Dangerous? BAH! That is the cost of progress friend! Progress! So that one day, we might rival that of the old ages once again! - A man on his first trip through Cawold

Government

Cawold is ruled by a monarch named Gyles Forde, a human, but there are several wealthy merchants that wield a form of limited power in his stead. These are generally the wealthy owners that run some of the researchers and artificers working within the city. Gyles runs his city efficiently and strictly, because in the past, studies of the old world tech have brought disastrous results. That being said, promising studies are given more leeway when deemed useful to the capital.

Defences

Cawold has a standing army backed by impressive spellcasters and artificers wielding powerful weapons. It fields powerful airships with deck cannons and artillery that can hit from afar and well as seaworthy ships with similar deck cannons. They also possess a flagship with a large experimental rail cannon, capable of leveling small cities or entire airship fleets. It is one of the more impressive armies in the world, but employs so much experimental tech that sometimes it falters at inopportune times.

Industry & Trade

The city of Cawold prides itself on the openness of research on old world tech, as well as it's resources to rebuild and fabricate new similar technology. It is the primary location where airship parts are built, and it also supplies the metallic and technical parts for terminals as well.   Seeing that Cawold lacks other ways to support itself, with the lack of as fertile lands and heavy fishing routes, it makes a surprising profit off of the resources it processes from other Capitals.

Infrastructure

The capital houses numerous forges, foundries, workshops, and shipyards in which work is done incorporating technology of the old age or building their own of the new age. While simpler, it can remedy numerous problems in the day to day lives of the citizens. the city has it's own sewage system as well as disposal stations to keep the nastier byproducts of such work at bay. It also houses numerous shops and private workshops of all kinds necessary for day to day life of the citizens as well.

Guilds and Factions

Numerous Guilds and Factions have found their homes within the center of technology of the new age, with the Diggers Guild being the foremost in the area. The Digger's Guild houses it's great Academy here, where it trains new inductees in exploration and survival.

History

Cawold was founded by a large group of mixed races with the majority being human. They came across a large island, and through sheer tenacity, they settled in the new world after the great flood. Early times keep them barely surviving through the seasons, until one day a group of trailblazers exploring the island came across what is now known as a Dungeon entrance. After many failed attempts, and a the majority of the group dying, hidden secrets were discovered when one of the first Cores was found and accessed. The information found on it lead to several leaps in technology and sustainability for the struggling city of Cawold. Over time, more was discovered within the Dungeon and the city grew into a great capital that flourishes in its rediscovered technology. The city is where the Digger Academy was formed to explore various other Dungeons around the world and to protect those that might attempt to delve into them without knowledge of the dangers within.

Architecture

Architecture here comprises of various builds and types. Buildings made of stone, wood, and metal are not uncommon here, some sporting all three materials.

Natural Resources

The city itself is a technological marvel for it's time. It exports various constructed goods and is a prime point for fishing and shellfish among the capitals, but imports heavily from Caypool (Produce goods) and Wastone (Stone and metals).
