Nissien Coast Climate and Culture

ll roads in the old kingdom of Nissia lead to Helias, the city of Silks.   Much of the traffic to Helias comes by sea, as few are brave enough to venture through the Nissien Dessert. Along the coasts of Nissia, they can find fig, lychee and dragon fruit trees aplenty, as well as the many riches that are traded between Helias and the rest of the Empire.   With Helias being the only place in the Empire that Federation vessels are allowed to land, the primary imports of jade, tea and pepper can be found within most Nissien communities.   Nissia's tropical desserts and savannahs more inland are dotted with oases and hubs for travellers to rest along the journey inland. Gemstones and glass are significant trades for these communities. The main 'Silken Road' is well-maintained by the The Weavers & Spinners Union, but travellers should beware that venturing off the road most always leads to peril.   The south-western part of the region is dominated by the Talus Mountains that are barely inhabited, save for the hardiest of folk and a few local tribes that fall outside the Empire's jurisdiction. This area is home to some of the meanest and most fearsome creatures within the Empire's bounds.
